SuiteCRM & SugarCRM

SuiteCRM and Sugar CRM were once the same program.  In October 2013, SugarCRM software forked (copied) the source code and started independent development under SugarCRM.  SuiteCRM continued, is a greatly extended version of SugarCRM containing many additional security fixes not available in SugarCRM (click for source).  SuiteCRM won the BOSSIE Award 2015 and BOSSIE Award 2016 for the world’s best Open Source CRM, an award once won by SugarCRM during previous years.

Records are formatted like cards in an address book.  Toggle subpanels within each record to see more or less information.  Leads can be converted to contacts, and contacts added to target lists for email marketing and other purposes.   Additional functionality for editing, merging, mass updates, deleting, importing and exporting contacts.  Share contacts individually or in groups, by email as vCards.  Import contacts individually from Outlook, Google Contacts, Vcards, any .csv .txt or other database file.

Opportunity Management

Allows tracking of individual sales.  Can be tied to leads, quotes, accounts,  Quickbooks accounts.  Create opportunities from scratch or by importing from .csv or other file types.  Also create opportunities by converting leads or quotes.  Set information such as account name, value, sales stage and expected close date.  

Workflow Automation

Use to automate lead routing, quote approvals, escalations and reminders.  Rule based processes for a wide variety of functionality to perform actions automating reminders, emails, quote approvals and more.
